How the Santa Fe College Bookstore Makes Education Affordable

Three smiling people dressed in shirts that read "Santa Fe College" throw small Caesar Saint plush dolls into the air in the Santa Fe College Bookstore.

May 30, 2024 – Since 1998, the Santa Fe College Bookstore has been a vital part of campus life. Located on the Northwest Campus, the bookstore helps students get the right course materials. Unlike many retailers, it reduces the risk of running out of essentials and offers faculty exclusive, customized textbooks for their classes.

“When students shop at the Santa Fe College Bookstore,” Mary Jane Mahoney, the bookstore’s General Manager said, “they can be confident that they are getting the correct course materials for their classes.”

The bookstore understands the financial challenges students may face. To help, it allows students to use their financial aid to purchase textbooks and supplies through a Bookstore Line of Credit. This service helps students obtain necessary materials, promoting academic success by removing financial barriers.

Committed to making education affordable, the bookstore employs various strategies. These include offering different formats of materials, a Price Match Program and a buyback program. Additionally, the Santa Fe College Bookstore supports the school by contributing a percentage of its revenue to student scholarships and special programs.
