MUN@SF competes in International conference in Toronto, ON

Last weekend,  12 Santa Fe College United Nations team members traveled to Toronto, Ontario to compete in the North American Model UN Conference. They competed against 600 students from 28 universities and colleges from  Canada and the United States. The team’s president, Roberto Garcia, was recognized by the Security Council as being the student most likely to take over the world — a fitting honor due to his exceptionally high level of involvement at SF.

MUN also had seven students attend the Florida Crisis Simulation at the University of Florida toast weekend, where they represented SF on committees ranging from the formulation of policy frameworks for the Republican National Convention to a recreation of OPEC’s response to the 1973 war between Egypt and Israel. MUN would like to thank SF President Jackson Sasser for his help in making our international travel possible.

The following students participated in this weekends MUN events: Ayman al-Shaikh, Cathy Barrios, Evan Bray, Daniel Colmenares, Manuel Fuentes, David Garate ,Roberto Garcia, Luz Hernandez, Savannah Irwin, Duncan Mathewson, Rudy Oliveros, Austin Pavich, Artem Polovikov, Tiffani Reilly, Mehdi Siahmedouali, Dianna Ta, Michelle Villavicencio, Isabelle Wasilewski, and Melissa Zapata.
