February 23, 2024 – As the season winds down, the Santa Fe College Saints are proving that it’s never too late to turn a bad streak around. Wednesday, the Saints challenged the Polk State College Eagles in Winter Haven. Their previous encounter ended with an Eagles victory.

This time around the Saints were determined to not let history repeat itself. They dominated the first half. The Eagles applied the pressure in the second, coming within reach of victory. However, the Saints played tough and won 80-75.

“We came out ready to play and had a great first half,” Saints Head Coach Chris Mowry said. “It’s been a long time since we’ve had the chance to play with a big lead and we have to be better in those situations. I’m very happy for our team for sticking together and getting a big win on the road!”

This Saturday, the Saints travel to Fort Myers to face the Florida Southwestern State College Buccaneers.
