The Santa Fe College clock tower

April 13, 2024 – Here’s some Santa Fe College news you might have missed:

  • Lucinda Dickens Hawksley visited SF: The great-great-great granddaughter of Charles Dickens met a literature class and gave a general lecture to invited guests, among other activities.

  • Herman Ramos and Lee Starling earned Part-Time Faculty Excellence Awards: The award recognizes part-time faculty who demonstrate excellence at Santa Fe College, in their profession, and in the community.

  • A new training opportunity for SF employees is available: “Veterans on Campus: Serving Those Who Served,” is now accessible on Canvas.

  • SF students rocked at Model U.S. Senate: They once again won an outsized share of the awards among the mostly four-year institutions that participated.

  • SF has qualified as an Unreal Academic Partner: Joining this program means our students get better software tools for their courses.

  • SF’s Model UN competed in the Southern Regional Model UN Conference: These students prepared advanced position papers on topics as diverse as the Israeli-Palestinian crises, sustainable urban transportation and cybersecurity.

  • SF launches a dedicated clubs space April 15: The new Student Engagement Center will be a place for student organizations across the college to meet, plan, hang out, collaborate and celebrate.
